How much does an IoT project cost in Saudi Arabia?
It is the first question almost every client asks, and the honest answer is that it depends on a handful of things you can know in advance. This article explains what drives the cost and shows the fixed prices we publish for each stage, VAT included, so you can budget before you talk to anyone.
What drives the cost
- Number of things you measure: ten sensors in one cold room is a different project from hundreds of meters across a region.
- Number of sites: every site needs a survey, installation visits and its own connectivity.
- Connectivity: cellular, LoRaWAN, Wi-Fi or a link into an existing SCADA or BMS. Each has different hardware and running costs.
- Hardware: industrial-grade sensors, gateways and enclosures for heat and dust cost more than indoor devices.
- Integration: sending data into your ERP, maintenance system or client portal adds software work.
- Running costs: SIM data, cloud hosting, device monitoring and replacing faulty units after launch.
Why we start small
The biggest cost risk in IoT is building at full scale before you know the sensors work in your environment and the data answers your question. So every project we run moves in stages, each with a fixed price, and you decide after each one whether to continue.
Stage 1: discovery sprint (SAR 20,700)
Our IoT discovery sprint takes 2 to 3 weeks. We survey the site, choose the sensors and connectivity, and build a working prototype on one asset. It ends with a sensor plan and a fixed quote for the next stage, so the number you budget for the pilot is not a guess.
Stage 2: sensor pilot (SAR 40,250)
The sensor pilot installs ten connected sensors and runs them on a live dashboard for 60 days. Sixty days is long enough to see real operating patterns, catch installation issues and decide whether the data is worth scaling.
Stage 3: roll-out (quoted)
Roll-out is quoted per project, because it depends on the drivers above: how many devices, how many sites and how deep the integration goes. By this point the quote rests on a working pilot, not assumptions.
After launch: monitoring (SAR 2,875 a month)
Devices need looking after. Our device monitoring plan watches installed devices around the clock, updates firmware and replaces faulty units, billed monthly and cancellable any time.
Not sure where you fit?
If you are still at the idea stage, a 90-minute expert session (SAR 920) gets you a written recommendation and a rough cost range before you commit to anything. All prices above include 15% VAT and are paid online, by bank transfer against a tax invoice, or by purchase order.
